I have lots of lovely childhood memories of Ken. I remember Ken’s lifts to school, on days we were running late he’d overtake all the queuing traffic on Sutton Road, we’d go speeding past with everyone blasting their horns as we went and Ken muttering under his breath. I remember the cats Hatty and Molly who were named after The Hawthorns and Molineux and all their antics. I also remember the day I went with Jan, Ken and Jenny on a day out. It was very warm and when we returned back home to the flat at Noddy Park Ken was alarmed to see the LP he’d left on the record player in the window had warped around the edges into a wavey pattern. The LP was Shirley Bassey and from that day Ken always called her ‘Frilly Shirl’! I only retold that story to my husband the other day when there was an item on the TV about her. I have fond memories of Ken as a fun, generous man and a lovely Dad and Husband. Sleep well Ken x Julie Baker
